Installing AMP+Tomcat on OS X...
I realize if you're reading this, you may very well be new to development, and new to working within a command line interface, in particular. I would hope, however, that you have some familiarity, if even only peripherally, with the technologies discussed.
But, ahhh, we all start somewhere, now don't we?
Below is a list of sites with basic instruction and command reference to get you started. I HIGHLY suggest reviewing them and becoming better familiarized before beginning this tutorial. I will, in the near future, be adding my own BASH reference to this site.
Until then, here you go!
- Stuff to get you started:
- Basic UNIX Commands (Stanford University)
- BASH Guide for Beginners (tldp.org)
- A-Z Index of OS X commands (ss64.com)
- MySQL 5.0 Commands (MySQL)
Be warned: before we begin, this tutorial is for instructional purposes only, and I am not in any way responsible for any damage you or your equipment incur along the way (so wear your helmets, kids)! As usual, you should back up all of your pertinent data before starting, or preferably, clone your boot partition and data to a backup drive.
(Actually, you should back up regularly, anyhow, but I'll spare you the lecture.)
